Saturday, June 3, 12:30 – 1 pm. Gibbs Watch invites citizens to come out in support of protecting health care at its weekly “Signs on the Square” event. H.R. 1628, American Health Care Act of 2017 passed the House vote in early May and is now being considered in the Senate. Last week, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) released their estimate that “in 2018, 14 million more people would be uninsured under the legislation than under current law. After additional changes to subsidies for insurance purchased in the nongroup market and to the Medicaid program took effect, the increase in the number of uninsured people would rise to 19 million in 2020 and then to 23 million in 2026.”
The rally takes place on the Public Square in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Gibbs Watch is for citizens of Ohio’s 7th Congressional district to follow the actions of Congressman Bob Gibbs. You can find them on Facebook.
