How did you feel last year at this time, on the eve of the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States and the Women’s March on Washington? Apprehensive? Angry? Triumphant? And how do you feel now, after a year of legislation? Has what you were angry or triumphant about come to pass?
Join us on Saturday, Jan. 20 to make your views known! We demonstrate from 12:30-1 pm on the Mount Vernon public square, and this Saturday we need a big turnout for the anniversary event to show the people of Mount Vernon and Knox County that this past year has not been life as normal and that what happens in our nation’s capitol affects ordinary people like us. Bring your own sign, or use one of ours.
Our theme is “Reform Congress” and we’ll be holding signs asking our representative for Ohio District 7, Mr. Bob Gibbs, what he has done during the past year about issues that affect people in Gambier and Mount Vernon, like:
- Health care (CHIP, Medicare)
- Environment
- Immigration
- Public education
- Diversity in Knox County
