The Knox County Democratic Women (KCDW) annually hosts a panel discussion or big program about issues (to be determined by the group) and one local candidate fundraiser. In recent years, the KCDW has also promoted an essay contest for high school students on a topic related to supporting engaged citizenship. The group participates in one community fundraising event to benefit a non-profit as a group every year, including local symphonies, concerts and MTV-Arts. The KCDW holds an Elaine Mayhew Award reception night to honor a woman for a lifetime of service to the community.
